Coaching takes place through conversation. The conversation, however is different than normal, social conversation. It is dynamic, focused and designed to move forward in you life.
Here comes blogging. Setting up a blog for a life success coaching business is an ideal way to create conversation. Today’s blog, you are not restricted only to write, but you can now communicate through podcast, audios and even videos.
The most important thing in your life success coaching business is, your business need to be visible on the world wide web or else, you are simply not exist in the eye of the customer.
Here is the 7 steps on how to start a blog for a life success coaching business on the right foot.
1) Preparing to blog.
The very first thing you need to understand is what is search engine optimization (SEO) . Having a blog is not enough. You need to know how to get noticed on the web. This is where SEO comes in.
The secret can be boiled into three simple steps;
i) Targeted keyword list – Assemble a targeted keyword phrases that your customer use to find your service. Then use those keywords phrase strategically on every blog post you made.
ii) Search-friendly site – create a search-friendly site which helps the search engine locate and properly index your post.
iii) Accumulate the right link from the right place.
From here, only number two (search-friendly site) is automatically set up for you. The other two, will be explained details in this post.
a) Targeted keyword list
Every keyword represent something. There are keywords used by the searcher which is in the research mode (example – “what is bluetooth phone”). There is also keyword used by the searcher which is in the buying mode (example – ” sony ericsson T700 cell phone”).
Your job is to find the buying keywords (80%) and the research keywords (20%).
General keywords such as “cell phone” should not be included in you target keyword list.
It also means that, when you do your keyword research, you have to think from your customer point of view. Ask question like;
“is this the exact phrase that a customer will use to find my service?”
Just remember, every thing in the net is hyper-relevancy.
The free keyword tools provided by google and wordtracker should be more than enough for you to get started.
i) Google External Keyword Tools
ii) Wordtracker Free Keyword Tools
b) Create a blueprint from your keywords
After assembled to right keywords explained above, you should have an idea of what people are looking for in your market.
Create a mind-map that represent your blog.
This blueprint should explain exactly how is your blog’s structure.

c) Decide Your Blog Platform
The simplest and most effective way to blog is using a wordpress. It’s already built-in searchengine friendly platform.
There are many ways you can buy domain and host your blog. Here we will use Bluehost, the simple all-in-one service.

For a domain, create one that represent you primary keywords. Try to come out with short name. as for me, i’m targeting “best professional speaking” as my primary keywords. (www.bestprofessionalspeaking.com)
After getting your domain and hosting, install your blog right from the cpanel (in your hosting account).

Scroll down the cpanel, look for “Software / Services” section.
Click the “Simple Script” icon.

Then, click on the Blogs > Wordpress

And, click “Install”

It should be no problem as it is so easy and self explanatory.
After installed, log in your wordpress and start play around and get yourself familiar with the menus.

It will bring you to the “wordpress dashboard”.

Go to Settings and fill up all your details there.

To make a post, just click the post button on the lefthand side.

For your blog appearance, you can use the existing themes or you can upload your pre-built theme using FTP to wp-content/themes directory.

Here is your FTP should look like:
If you don’t have FTP yet, download it now for FREE:

Upload your pre-built theme using FTP to wp-content/themes directory.

You can activate your newly upload theme by going Appearance > Themes section.

For this article, I’m using ‘grey matter’ themes as example:
d) Customer list
One of the most important thing in business is to have a customer list. This list should consist of your customer or prospect that show interest in getting to know you closer.
You need to create a system where you can capture their contact information.
The most effective way is, create a web form for them to fill in their name and email as shows below.

To create the webform (picture above) , services like Aweber is highly recommended.
You can find all the details here: Aweber Email Marketing Solution

All you need is, get the webform code from aweber,

Go to you wordpress Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

Click and hold the “text widget”. Drag to the “side bar”

Paste the code from aweber in your “text widget” and click ‘save’.

Your blog should have the “side bar” web form something like this;

2) Choose your topic well
You need to know your audience well.
You need to know what interest them. By having this idea, you can tailor your writing to meet their interest.
The most important part in your writing is your title.
Marketing Guru Seth Godin once saying; “You only get one chance to make a second impression”
For me, every month I will brainstorm with at least four article/post title.
You can generate the post title by reading other blog relating to your topic.
You can also use forums, google and yahoo group, social media (such as facebook, digg, twitter or stumbleupon) to reach your audience and to generate a post title.
Wordtracker had come out with a “The web content recipe book” which helps me a lot to find a content idea for my blog.
3) Write interesting content use those keywords phrase strategically on every blog post you made.
a) Wordpress SEO Plugins
Wordpress have a plugin call All In One SEO. Installed it by upload the plugin using FTP to wp-content/plugin directory.

Activate the All In One SEO plugin.

Fill up all the details in Settings > All In One SEO

Fill up those field as below.
i) Page Title (65 characters)
example: “Main Keyword | Secondary Keyword + Explanation”
ii) Description Tag (250 characters)
example: “Primary & Secondary Keyword : Benefit Your Site Offers.”
b) Optimize every post
Every post you’ll make, you should fill up the All In One SEO section from your Dashboard > Post > Add New
You can find this section by scrolling down the Add New post window.

Fill up those field as below.
i) Page Title (65 characters)
example: “Main Keyword | Secondary Keyword + Explanation”
ii) Description Tag (250 characters)
example: “Primary & Secondary Keyword : Benefit Your Site Offers.”
iii) Headlines / Blog Title
example: Title: “Primary Keyword”
Lastly, for your article, include you main keyword in the first paragraph and sprinkler the main keywords / secondary keywords / synonyms around your articles. Be natural.
What I usually do is, I will write the whole article first, the I will re-read and try to fit in the keywords where appropriate.
If none and if it looks wired, I just leave it as it is. Why? Our top priority is to please our customer first.
Here are some more plugins that I find highly useful:

4) Reuse your blog post Every blog post you made, reuse (rewritten) and enhance it to a article format.
Submit this article to article directories such as ezinearticle.com.
Submitting your article to such directories helps your blog search engine ranking.
It is one of the best way to get links for your blog.
5) Be a guest blogger
Guest blogging is another free and most effective article marketing technique.
It is the best ways to get links for your blog.
What you need is, just surf around and find popular blog and website in your market.
Look around the blog for any ‘guest blogging’ invitation.
Approach the website owner and offer to write an article for them.
One link from this popular website is way much better than a hundreds links from a un well-known websites.
6) Submit your blog to the major blog directories and services.
Submit your blog (using your rss feed url) for example: http://feeds.feedburner.com/BestProfessionalSpeakingBookBlog
which you can get by registering your blog to: Feedburner
to this blog directories:
i) technorati.com
ii) Globe of Blogs

here is the url >> www.prwebdirect.com

As a life success coach, you need to build up your credibility.
You need to write as much as possible. Your content should be interesting enough to get the viral effect.
Furthermore, google loves a content-rich website.
The good practice is, try to reach at least 30 article or blog post before market you blog. (article marketing and advertising)
After reaching the 30 blog post, you may update to blog at least once a week.
Only use one primary keyword per article.
Don’t use more that 3 keywords per article as it will confuse the search engine.
Remember, every article should always pleased your human reader first then pleasing the robot later (search engines).
All you need right now is “Just Do It”.
You just need to start and the rest will naturally comes to you.
As always, “Luck is When Preparedness Meets Opportunity”
